bedsores are caused by constant pressure on the body weight. For a long time, some parts of the skin are pressed. As a result, the blood cannot flow to the skin that is pressed easily.
The initial symptoms will be redness at the pressure area and may spread until it affects the muscles, tendons, and bones.
Bedsores are classified into 4 grades
Level 1 – Skin redness.
Level 2 – The upper skin is shed. superficial tear There is redness in the surrounding tissues, pain, swelling, redness, heat, and a small to moderate amount of exudate from the wound.
Level 3 – there is the destruction of the skin to the fat layer. There was a deep scar. There is a lot of secretion from the wound. May have a bad smell.
Level 4 – Damage to tendons, muscles, bones, hollow scars, heavy wound exudate. have a bad smell.
Protective care To prevent the patient from developing bedsore
Place the patient on a seat with weight distribution features. In order to cause the least pressure.
Change the posture at least every 2 hours. to reduce the time of pressing which is the source of bedsores in the early stages.
Take special care to clean the skin around the buttocks and back. To prevent the skin from getting wet.
Check the condition of the skin every time when sitting posture changes
If redness is found, Avoid sitting positions that press on the same spots that start to cause redness.
If it is a wound, it must be treated quickly, and see a doctor as soon as possible. to prevent proliferation and increase the level of bedsores.
